1.  What do you charge?  As a doctoral-level licensed clinical psychologist, Lesley's standard fee is $125/hour.  As interns, Sarah and Toni charge $65/hour.  We also offer a sliding scale when necessary and are willing to work with you to reach a mutually agreeable fee.  We accept cash or checks only.  Sorry, we can not accept credit or debit cards.

2.  Do you take insurance?  No, however we provide monthly receipts that can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement.  Please check with your insurance provider regarding their policies.

3.  What age of clients do you see?  Lesley and Toni currently see people 13 years of age and older.  Sarah Walsh has an interest in helping people as young as 10 years old.

4.  What is your style of counseling?  We tend to be very eclectic in that each person we work with is unique.  We like to understand family history and family dynamics that have impacted a person and how the past may influence the present.  With that, we use a family systems, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral approach, depending on the needs of the client.  We tend to be straightforward and direct when needed but also provide a sensitivity that has allowed us to really understand the client's experience and pain.   We also offer Christ-centered counseling when requested.

5. What is your area of expertise?  We work with all types of emotional challenges that would cause someone to seek counseling.  We work with families, couples, and individuals.  Lesley's specialty is with those that struggle with eating disorders of all types, including but not limited to, anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder.  Lesley also offers EMDR therapy.

6.  What is EMDR Therapy?  Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR is a set of standardized protocols that incorporates elements from many different treatment approaches. To date, EMDR has helped an estimated two million people of all ages relieve many types of psychological stress.  Learn more about EMDR therapy.

7.  What is Christ-centered counseling?  In Christ-centered counseling, we look at your relationship with Jesus Christ and explore areas of wrong belief and unbelief that currently hinder you from being able to walk in freedom.  Most people are unaware of the abundance of lies they are currently listening to and believing that perpetuate their struggles.  Finding and believing truth about God and how God sees His children are essential to finding healing and genuine freedom.

8.  Do I have to be a Christian to receive counseling from you?  Absolutely not.  Although we believe that true healing happens through a relationship with God, it doesn't mean that we cannot help you find answers to why you are struggling and solutions to a happier and healthier life.  We do not believe in forcing Jesus Christ into anyone's life.  We believe that genuinely caring for people, hearing their experience, and working together to find answers, is what people are looking for.
